aDNA analysis of Swiss and Italian skeletal samples will be carried out at EURAC, Institute for Mummy Studies. This part of the project will include the analysis of nuclear and mitochondrial ancient DNA. The aim is to investigate a) genetic relationships between the studied individuals from the different areas and other ancient groups from previous studies/publications; b) genetic relationships within the “Celtic” group and patterns of paternal and maternal relatedness in each funerary context.
